Textile Research and Consultancy

Research and planning represent an integral part of our dyeing process.  It is important to understand exactly what a project needs to achieve, and ultimately the look and purpose of the end product.  Bulmer and Lumb Group are committed in their research to enhancing the preparation and dyeing of natural and technical fibres to provide an exclusive end product.

Technical Services Laboratory

In our Technical Services Laboratory, we have the capability to test the physical properties of incoming fibres.  We are equipped with an OFDA 4000 (Optical Fibre Diameter Analyser) testing machine which is capable of measuring the diameter, length, hauteur and barbe of fibres in a single measurement, suitable for measuring wool, animal and most synthetic fibres.

This equipment is unsurpassed in its application and in use in over 30 countries.

Collaborative Work

We are committed to employing & training highly qualified technical staff (up to Chartered Colourist Status) and make provision for the creation of the next generation through our support of the Society of Dyers and Colourists’ TCC course.
